Locally sourced ceramics, found objects, sand, wax, plaster, expanding foam.
This work explores traditional materials of industrialism and urbanisation, continuously taking inspiration from local urbanised and organic landscapes. Found items are arranged throughout the floor space; nestling amongst the sand, piled against each other, learnt against the wall. Taking archived found material, the space decontextualised the objects from their original context and from previous works.
The creation of sculptures combines industrial processes while using the path of thinking through making. sculptures begin through an experimentation with a materials tactility and resilience- investigating the possibilities it holds and the ability to portray a moment of transformation, capturing a physical form before its inevitable destruction.
